Uninspired by traditional research, Birgit Brecknell sought a creative alternative to express her scientific knowledge. She turned to creative writing, believing that her research background and active imagination were sufficient to produce a screenplay. She was wrong. In this book, Birgit describes the hurdles that sheas novice writerfaced. She sheds light on screenwriting approaches that hindered, and those that eventually inspired her screenplay "Frank and Stein." The full script is included to demonstrate how science/global economic issues can be turned into a fictional work. The story "Frank and Stein" stimulates, speculates, and most importantly, takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride into another world. Birgit learnt that it is possible to inspire an audience with creative work. And, as described in this book, she also discovered essential tools required to write a page-turner.
